With the confidence that you will write CET 2001, we thought it proper to provide you with
certain basic information which will not only help you in procuring the application for
CET 2001, but also to do the ground work for Common Entrance Test and Seat Selection
Process.
We are reaching the brochure with application form for CET 2001 directly to the candidates
through their respective schools and colleges. To accomplish this, we have furnished a
list of students studying 2nd PUC to the PU colleges in the state and we have requested
the principals to collect Rs 350/- from the interested students in the form of demand
draft drawn in favour of ``The Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore'', payable at
Bangalore and send the demand drafts so collected in one bunch to the CET Cell, so that
the CET cell can directly send the brochures to the respective colleges in time. So, if
you are planning to write CET 2001 please buy a demand draft of Rs 350/- immediately and
hand it over to your college office and ask for an acknowledgment in a specially provided
receipt. We hope to reach the brochure with application form to you very soon. Repeater
candidates are also expected to procure their brochures through the college in which the
candidate had studied or suitably advised in this regard. So, if you have a friend who is
a repeater candidate, please inform him of this.
We are aware that you are concentrating on the forthcoming 2nd PUC or 12th std
examinations. We are sure, your are also preparing for the CET 2001. With the kind of
concentration and dedication the 2nd PU exam and the Common Entrance Test demand, you will
be left with hardly any time to think about the documents that you will have to keep ready
for the seat selection process. We hope that your parents or some elder member in the
family will help you in gathering the necessary documents from the schools and various
offices. The documents that you have to be ready with are detailed in the annexure of this
letter. We think that not only you should be aware of this but your parents also should
know about the documents with which you should be ready for the seat selection process.
So, please hand over this letter to your parents or the elder members of the family who
will do the needful on your behalf.
If you are hoping to avail the benefit of reservation in favour of caste income group,
i.e, reservation in favour of SC, ST and backward classes, you are required to produce a
caste income validity certificate signed by the Deputy Commissioner of the District and
issued by the District level caste income verification committee at the time of the seat
selection process. We have already furnished to the concerned Deputy Commissioners of the
Districts, a District wise list of probable candidates who may seek caste income validity
certificates.
Our experience shows that a large number of candidates approach the office of the Deputy
Commissioner for caste income validity certificate only after writing the Common Entrance
Test and pay a heavy price of losing the opportunity of selecting a reserved seat for want
of caste income validity certificates. We do not want you to suffer a similar fate. Please
request your parents to submit an application for Caste Income Validity certificate to the
concerned Deputy Commissioner's office with the supporting documents, if any, immediately.
The CET cell has, with the approval of the Government printed and supplied tastefully
designed `Imitation proof' forms for issue of validity certificates to all the Deputy
Commissioners in the State. It is in pink colour. Please insist that the validity
certificates should be issued only in those exclusive forms.
We have furnished your basic details on the CET website, you may check the accuracy of the
same on the internet at our website http://kar.nic.in/cet. If there is any mistake or
error, please write to us mentioning your student number.
Further, we have requested the respective PU colleges to receive the CET 2001 applications
from the candidates and send them to the CET cell. The actual dates in respect of these
events will be notified to your later on, in the brochure.
In the computers of CET cell your name gets linked to your personal data through your
`student number' assigned by the PUE Directorate. In other words, student number is the
real link. So, when your receive this letter you ought to have signed only against your
name and student number assigned to you on the computer printout. Like wise, when you
hand-over the demand draft for Rs 350/- to the college office, please ensure that you sign
against your name and student number. Do not forget to write down your name and student
number on the back side of the demand draft. Similarly, when you receive the CET 2001
brochure do not err.
So, if you are interested in CET 2001, please hurry and hand-over a demand draft for Rs
350/- to the Principal, ask your parents to get ready with the documents and for the
moment forget about CET and study well for the forthcoming examination. We wish you
success and a bright future.
With best wishes from all of us in the CET Cell.
Your Sincerely,
sd/-
