1. Important Documents.
A. Special Categories : Candidates claiming the benefit under the following categories should produce the relevant original certificates mentioned against the said categories along with two sets of photocopies on the dates mentioned below to the CET Cell in person during office hours. The candidates should not send their original documents through post.
i. NCC : ‘B’ Certificate and other relevant certificates issued by the NCC authorities in support of
   claim of the candidate.
ii. Sports : The certificates issued by the organisation mentioned in Appendix-VII in support of the
   claim of the candidate.
iii. Scouts & Guides : The President award Certificate.


iv. Political Sufferer : Government Order sanctioning the freedom fighter’s pension to the parent of the candidate. The certificate from the concerned Tahsildar stating that the candidate is the natural born son or daughter of the political sufferer should be produced.

v. Physically Handicapped : A medical certificate issued by the competent doctor in the field of the concerned disability. The candidates claiming reservation under this category will be required to appear before a Committee comprising of the Special Officer, CET Cell as the Chairman and two specialists nominated by the Director of Medical Education, whose decision is final.

vi. Defence :

(a) Candidates claiming eligibility under Clause (v) of Item 7 of Chapter-I should produce the certificate of employment issued by the controlling office where the parent is working indicating the period during which the parent has worked in Karnataka.
(b) Candidates claiming eligibility under Clause (vi) of Item 7 of Chapter-I should produce a certificate from the record office of the Defence Unit indicating that the parent had declared a place in Karnataka as his home town at the time of joining the service.
(c) Candidates claiming eligibility under Clause (vii) of Item 7 of chapter-I should produce a certificate from the controlling office indicating the period during which the parent has worked in Karnataka, the present place of posting and also the fact that his family is permitted to stay in Karnataka.
vii Ex-Defence : The certificate showing the home address of the parent, issued by the Deputy Director, Department of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement.
viii Anglo-Indian : The certificate issued by the Registered Association of the Anglo Indian Community in the State of Karnataka.

N.B.: The candidates claiming under (vi) (a) and (c) should produce the study certificate issued by the head of the educational institution for having studied and passed the qualifying examination in Karnataka when they come for the preliminary round.
B. Karnataka Quota : Candidates who seek admission to Karnataka quota will have to produce the following documents in original with 3 sets of photo copies when they come for the preliminary round:
a. CET Admission Ticket.

b. SSLC or X standard or equivalent examination marks card for proof of date of birth.

c. II PUC or XII standard or qualifying examination marks card.

d. Certificate to show that the candidate has studied in Karnataka for a minimum period of 7 years from 1st std. to 12th std. or qualifying examination issued by the head of the institution and countersigned by the Block Educational Officer/DDPI.

e. Caste-cum-Income VALIDITY CERTIFICATE” in respect of students who claim benefit under reservation category (As mentioned in Item 10 of Chapter-I ) issued by the District Level Caste Income Verification Committees headed by the Deputy Commissioner of the District.

f. 4 Passport size photographs.

g. Rural study certificate in respect of candidates claiming the benefit of reservation under clause (4) of Item - 10 of Chapter-I should produce the certificate for having studied for at least 10 years in rural areas from 1st std. to qualifying examination from the head of the educational institution and the said certificate should be countersigned by the Block Educational Officer or DDPI. The population of the place of study should be attested by the Tahsildar of the concerned Taluk.

h. The candidates claiming eligibility under clause (ii) of Item 7 of Chapter-I should produce a certificate for either of the parent having studied for at least 7 years in Karnataka from the Head of the educational institution where he/she had studied. The candidates should also produce the study certificate issued by the head of the educational institution for having studied I and II PUC or equivalent examination in Karnataka.

i. Candidates claiming eligibility under clause (iii) of Item 7 of Chapter-I should produce a certificate from the concerned Revenue or Municipal authorities regarding place of their residence outside Karnataka as on 1.7.2000.

j. Candidates claiming eligibility under clause (iv) of Item 7 of Chapter-I should produce a certificate from the concerned Tahsildar regarding the residence in the disputed taluk.

k. Candidates claiming eligibility under clause (ix) of Item 7 of Chapter-I should produce a certificate from the employer indicating the parent’s period of employment in Karnataka and also that the parent is transferable anywhere in India. The candidate should also produce the certificate from the head of the educational institution for having studied and passed the qualifying examination in Karnataka.

l. Candidates claiming eligibility under clause (x) of Item 7 of Chapter-I should produce a certificate from the parent’s employer in support of his employment and also in support of the claim that the parent had declared a place in Karnataka as his/her Home town at the time of joining the service. The certificate should also indicate that the parent is transferable anywhere in India. Also another certificate from the head of the institution where such parent had studied for at least 7 years in Karnataka from 1st std. to 12th std. should be produced.

m. Candidates claiming eligibility under clause (xi) of Item 7 of Chapter-I should produce a certificate from the Parliament Secretariat, certifying that the parent is/was a Member of Parliament elected from Karnataka.

n. The candidates claiming eligibility under clause (xii) of Item 7 of Chapter-I should produce a certificate form the Secretary, DPAR, Government of Karnataka, Bangalore, where the parent belongs to All India Service of Karnataka cadre stating that the parent is a member of such All India Cadre. The certificate should also indicate the period during which he has served or is serving outside the state of Karnataka. And where the parent is a State Government Employee, a certificate from the concerned Head of the Department or the Head of the Office where such parent is employed. The certificate should also indicate the period during which he has served or is serving outside the state of Karnataka.

p. Candidates claiming eligibility under clause (xiii) of Item 7 of Chapter-I shall produce acceptable documents to prove that the parent is a Non-Resident Indian and also documents to prove that he is originally from Karnataka.

N.B.: Where the eligibility of the candidate is based on the study, employment, etc., of the parent, documents to establish the relationship of the candidate with the parent has to be produced.

C. Important documents to be produced by Non-Karnataka students: Candidates who seek admission to Non-Karnataka quota will have to produce the following documents in original with 3 sets of photo copies when they come for the preliminary round:
a. CET Admission ticket.

b. SSLC or X Standard or equivalent examination marks card for proof of date of birth.

c. XII Standard or II PUC or qualifying Examination marks card.

d. 4 Passport size photographs.

D. Students who have taken the qualifying examination other than Karnataka PUC 2000 : In case of candidates seeking admission to Karnataka Quota and if the qualifying examination is other than Karnataka PUC 2000, then a photocopy of the qualifying examination marks card on which the CET No. is boldly written should be sent to the CET Cell within one week from the date of examination, failing which no rank will be assigned in the result sheets. However the candidates will be assigned ranks subsequently. See box at page 16 about intermediary ranks.

N.B.: The contents of the documents submitted by the candidates should be either in Kannada or English language. Otherwise the CET Cell reserves the right to reject the same.

Important documents to be produced by Karnataka Students
A. If you are claiming Karnataka quota on the basis of your study in Karnataka, then keep the following original documents ready for the seat selection process.

1. STUDY CERTIFICATE : To show that the candidate has studied in Karnataka for a minimum period of 7 years from 1st std. to 12th std. / qualifying examination issued by the head of the institution and countersigned by the Block Educational Officer / DDPI
2. CASTE - INCOME VALIDITY CERTIFICATE : In respect of candidates who claim benefit under reservation category issued by the district level caste income verification committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner of the district.

3. RURAL STUDY CERTIFICATE : Candidates claiming the rural reserved seats should produce a certificate for having studied at least 10 years in rural areas in Karnataka from 1st std. to qualifying examination from the head of the institution and the said certificate should be countersigned by the Block Educational Officer or DDPI. The population of the place of study should be attested by the Tashildar of the concerned Taluk.
