Champion

Movie:
Champion
Cast:
Sunny Deol, Rahul Dev, Manisha Koirala, Master Abhishek Sharma and others.
Direction:
Padam Kumar.

Anu-Malik.

After Dillagi which bit the dust, we get to see Sunny Deol, a suppose to be champion of action movies in ‘Champion’, the maiden movie of director Padam Kumar.

The story revolves round the super cop Rajveer Singh who comes from Patiala with many good intentions. He is made the bodyguard of Abbas (Master Abhishek Sharma) whose life is at risk. Nazir (Rahul Dev) a maniac killer is after his life. Reasons for his grudge are dramatically revealed in an interesting flash back.   Nazir is 21st century
villain who is fully equipped with all the facilities

that are provided by technology. The fight between the two makes rest of the story. The director has made the plot as boring and senseless as possible.

Manisha comes to refresh the audience with her beauty. She is no more suitable for the songs that exhibit dancing abilities. This dis-figured heroine does not look good in those tight out fits. Except her smile she has nothing good to present. Sunny Deol looks tired. He has not involved himself totally in the role. Acting is very superficial. It is high time he takes rest.

Only appreciable fact of the movie is the photography by S.Thiru (who has lent his creative hand for Kamal Hasan’s Hey Ram). Rahul Dev’s performance is good. Although it is his debut he is impressive. He is quite promising.

Finally this ‘Champion’ is not for those who want some quality entertainment. Those who want some noise to kill their time can go for this.
