Government Museum (2 km)
Established in 1886, this beautiful structure with splendid Corinthian Columns, houses a wonderful collection of archaeological and geological artifacts and old jewellery. Timing:09.00 hrs to 18.00 hrs. Closed on Wednesdays and Public holidays. Found here is a splendid collection relating to archaeology, geology, art and numismatics.

Venkatappa Art Gallery
Though the main exhibition displays works of the famous Mysore artist, K. Venkatappa, the works of painters and sculptors representing India’s contemporary or modern school are also displayed in the gallery.The K. Venkatappa Art Gallery is situated near the Government Museum. Books and material used by the great artist K. Venkatappa have been exhibited in the main hall. Timings: 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. (closed on Wednesdays). 

Visveswarayya Industrial and Technological Museum (2 km)
A wonderland of information about the marvels of science. The museum has several rooms, each devoted to one discipline of technology. Timings: 10.00 hrs to 17.00 hrs. Closed on Mondays and Public holidays. The museum portrays the application of science and technology in industry and human welfare. Seminars, demonstrations, lectures and film shows on scientific subjects are organized periodically. The Mobile Science Exhibition, a special feature of the museum, tours all over the State throughout the year.
