Special features on concessions extended to various classes of commuters
Concessions extended by the Corporation to different categories of the travelling public/ students are detailed below.
     
Students:

  • Students studying up to 7 standard Rs 6/- per month upto 40 kms.
  • Students studying up to 8th, 9th and 10th standard Rs. 18/- per month up to 40 kms.
  • College students, Rs. 36/- per month travelling up to 40 kms.
  • Evening college/ Ph.D. Students Rs. 60/- per month travelling up to 40 kms.
  • In addition to the above, processing charges of Rs. 40/- per pass will be collected from High School and College students. Passes are issued both for 5 months and 10 months. Where as free passes and evening college passe / Ph.D. student passes are issued only for 10 months.
  • For the school & college students engaging buses on casual contract for the study tour on excursions, Rs. 1/- km discount shall be made available on the existing rates.

Passes to Drama Troupes / Yakshagana Troupes
50 % concessional travel facility to the Drama Troupes & Yekshagana troupes sponsored by Karnataka Sangeetha Nataka Academy.
  
Passes to Journalists
Monthly passes to working journalists at the rate of Rs. 10/- per pass per month in city services without restrictions on the number of trips.
 
Passes to Blind persons
Blind persons are issued with free passes to travel in mofussil, Suburban and City services.
 
Freedom fighters pass
Free passes are issued to freedom fighters to travel in Karnataka State road Transport Corporation buses except in Puspak, Luxury abd super deluxe buses within state.
 
Monthly Season Passes
KSRTC introduced monthly season passes for the conveyance of the regular commuters travelling in Mofussil busses. The pass holder can travel in Ordinary / Express buses up to 11 stages. Monthly season ticket is a not transferable ticket issued in the name of an individual.

Freedom Tickets ( Travel as You Like)
It is well known fact that introduction of pass will result in getting advance revenue to KSRTC and reducing the workload of the conductors. With a view to encourage the commuters to travel in KSRTC services, it was decided to introduce Freedom Ticket where in the pass holder is permitted to travel for 7 days freedom ticket by paying Rs. 400/- per adult, and Rs. 200/- for a child ticket and is allowed to travel in Ordinary / Express services operated by KSRTC for a period of 7 days. And any person can purchase a 7 days freedom ticket by paying Rs. 600/- and is allowed to travel in Ordinary / Express / Semi Luxury/ Luxury/ Hi-tech services operated by KSRTC for a period of 7 days.
   
Casual Contract
The charges of the casual contract in respect of Ordinary, Puspak and Super deluxe/ Ultra Deluxe services are as follows.
 

  • Ordinary buses -          Rs. 15/- per Km subject to daily
                                       Minimum of Rs. 3750/- per bus

  • Luxury/Puspak -         Rs. 16/- per Km subject to daily
                                       Minimum of Rs. 4000/- per bus

  • Hi-Tech/ Ultra buses - Rs. 18/- per Km subject to daily
                                        Minimum of Rs. 4500/- per bus

  • Casual Contracts involving 200 kms or less within a duration of 12 hrs between 6 AM to 8 PMon any day flat charge of Rs 3000 will be charged instead of Rs 3750/- (For Ordinary buses only).

The students studying in the school /colleges recognized by the Govt. Of Karnataka or Indian Union who are engaging buses for study tour, excursions etc., shall be given a discount of rs. 1/- per Km on the above rates for all types of buses.

Single Window System:
To avoid the inconvenience faced by the public in getting the vehicles on casual contract, KSRTC has introduced a Single Window System in Bangalore, Mysore and Mangalore.
 
The public who desire to hire a bus on contract can get the vehicle easily by submitting their request in a Single Window Counter which is exclusively established in Kempegowda Bus Station at Bangalore and Bus Stations at Mysore and Mangalore cities. With this system the public need not approach the Depots and Divisional Offices for getting the vehicles & to get the refunds etc.
  
Family Union Weekend Pass
Family Union Weekend Pan Scheme is being launched to lure the weekend travelers and travelers travelling during holidays to pay visit to their family-parents properly. This scheme is offered to provide concession facilities in the form of offers free trips to enable the customer to patronize the KSRTC services and to promote savings to the customer.
 
The following concessional facilities will be offered to the customers.

  1. A pass holder availing this pan facility is entitled for one free trip for taking a pan for eighttrips (one has to pay for seven trips for travelling eight trips) during a calendar month.

  2. A pass holder is eligible for two free trips for taking the pass for a minimum of 10 trips during a calendar month.

  3. A pass holder is eligible for three free trips for taking the pass for 12 trips or more during a calendar month.

Charted Contract
At present KSRTC is providing buses on Chartered Contract basis to the Industrial, Institutions, Public Undertakings at the rates indicated below.

  • Ordinary services Rs. 15/- per Km

  • Puspak buses Rs. 16/- per Km

For the recognised educational institutions buses are provided on the chartered contract at the concessional rates mentioned below:

  • For Schools Rs. 11/- per Km

  • For Colleges Rs. 12/- per Km.
