The
Area:
The East zone of Bangalore city cover an area of 104.5 square KMs comprising the
Eastern part of the city. The zone comprises of posh localities commercial areas,
Industrial area and several areas inhabited by middle and lower middle income groups.
Bangalore Airport, the busy commercial street the elite shopping area, the beautiful
Ulsoor lake, the famous St.Mary's Church, Gurudwara of Sikhs, Ulsoor Someshwara Temple one
of the Oldest temples in the city, the well laid out Russel market area are situated in
this zone. In addition there are several establishments of the state and Central
Government, the public sector concerns like the Indian Telephone Industries (ITI),
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited(HAL), New Government Electric Factory (NGEF), corporate
offices, Defence establishments and corporate offices are located in this zone.
There are four Assistant Commissioners of police in this zone with Headquarters at
Airport, Ulsoor, Krishnarajapuram, and Frazer Town.
The people residing in this area have excellent rapport with the police and more than 2236
people are enrolled as members of Neighborhood Watch Scheme and has 92 prominent citizens
as Special Police Officers.
