d. Private candidate and special provisions........

 

Save as otherwise provided in regulation 40, a candidate will be eligible to appear for the examination as a private candidate in the year only if he-
 

  1. completes eighteen years of age on the 1st day of March of that year where the examination is to be held during March and on the 1st day of September of the year where the examination is to be held during September.

  2. has passed the Primary VII Standard examination conducted by or under the authority of the Department of Public Instruction or an examination considered by the Board as equivalent to the Primary VII Standard examination; and a period of not less than four complete years form the date of passing such examination will have elapsed on the 1st day of March of that year where the examination is to be held in March, or on the 1st day of September of that year where the examination is to be held in September.

  3. has not attended any recognized high school at any time during the period of hundred and eighty days immediately before the 1sr day of March of that year where the examination is to be held in March and before the 1st day of September of that year where the examination is to be held in September.


Special conditions of eligibility to appear as a private candidate, -
Notwithstanding anything contained in regulation 39, but subject to the provision 42, -

 

  1. Any male person who completes twenty years or any female person
    who completes 18 years of age during the year in which he/she
    wishes to appear for the examination, on the first day of March of
    that year where the examinations is to be held during March, or on
    the first day of September as where the examination is to be held
    during September the case may be.

  2. Women candidates who have undergone the two-year condensed
    course conducted under the auspices of the Central Social Welfare
    Board, New Delhi, before the last date prescribed for sending
    applications for the examination.

  3. Physically handicapped persons; shall be eligible to appear as
    private candidates.


Explanation, - For the purpose of this regulation, a person shall be deemed to be physically handicapped if he is certified as such by a medical officer in the services of the State Government who is not below the rank of a District Surgeon.


Enrolment of private candidates. -

  1. Any person who intends to appear as a private candidate for the examination shall apply to be Board through the recognized institution for being enrolled as a private candidate through a recognized high school in the form of enrolment prescribed by the Board and on payment of the fee specified in Annexure VI.
  2. The application for enrolment should be accompanied by anyone of the following documents as evidence of age, namely: -
  1. Baptismal certificate

  2. extract from the birth register;

  3. affidavit sworn to before a Judicial Magistrate;

  4. extract from service register if the candidate is a Government
    servant.

  1. The Board may after being satisfied about the conditions of eligibility of the person to appear as a private candidate grant an enrolment certificate.

  2. On receipt of the enrolment certificate a candidate shall on payment of the registration fee specified in Annexure VI get himself registered with one of the recognized high school as a private candidate. A candidate shall forward the enrolment certificate granted by the Board along with his application for admission to the examination.
