Bangalore metro rail (Namma Metro) gets yet another app with more information and user friendliness. The app Our Bangalore Metro boasts to be first app for Namma metro to support Kannada and English languages. Giving the user freedom to choose language of comfort. Choosing from station to destination gives detailed description of ticket pricings. There seems to be many types of fares for individuals, group and sanchar fare. Individual for one time travel between set of stations. Group charge for people of 25 or more travelling together between same set of stations. And Sanchar fare for an individual holding Sanchar card. Sanchar card can be used for performing multiple journeys and is specially meant for regular commuters between two fixed stations. Sanchar fares has fares for 10, 40, 50, 100 trips.
Travel cards, combo cards, Stored value ticket(Varshik), Metro-bus cards are explained in detail under --- tab. Maps tab shows line diagram of route map through the length of Namma metro. This gives the user an opportunity to plan his/her trip. For a detailed route map, the app utilizes Google maps for better interactivity and user friendliness. But this option requires internet access to access data from Google maps.
Station Info tab has Stations tab gives detailed information of the metro station like safety measures of the station, parking capacity, preceding station and next station. Parking info has details of charges for bicycles, two wheelers and four wheelers on hourly basis.
About tab has tons of information to assist user. Facilities at stations, safety precautions, about BMRCL and Contact details are some of them. Tab “Facilities at station” has the information about the commodities available at the metro stations. Safety precautions instruct the user to follow in case of disaster.
