Subject: Autos demanding almost three times the meter fare

Dear Sir,
I am a resident of Bangalore working in I.I.T. Kharagpur.  I visit Bangalore almost once in six weeks. The new train recently introduced - Yeshwanthpur - Howrah - Yeshwanthpur Express - has been very convenient to us with its excellent pantry car facility. It saves us at least six hours of journey time. It would help a lot of passengers if the train could pass through Bangalore East, Cant and City stations because we face a lot of problems with autos fleecing the public demanding almost three times the meter fare. A large number of passengers get down at Krishnarajapuram to save some journey time. At least some police should be posted in Krishnarajapuram to control this menace.

When the train passes through Orissa, the local vendors do not allow the pantry car services to serve. Every time I witness ugly fights inside the coaches. Pantry car attendants say they are helpless as they cannot handle some 50 goons attacking them. This may kindly be brought to the notice of the apporpriate authorities to stop this menace.

Subject: Darkness - Outer ring road

Dear Sir,
This letter is to BDA. Since, I could not find site pertaining to BDA, I am writing in this column.

I am a resident of Kengeri Satellite town(Housing Board Apartments). The new ring road goes besides our colony. Although, the public is using the road since last 6-7 months it is only thrown open in the last 3 weeks.

But unfortunate part is the streetlights along the road is not lit up till today. We the residents are eagerly awaiting the lit of the lights. May the concern authorities let us know, when they will complete the necessary activities so that we can see the light on the road.

With thanks and regards

Subject: Supreme Court Order - Cauvery Issue

Dear,
This is regarding velurajesh's mail on Cauvery issue.

Why velu is not thinking positively? First of all this is a very understanding matter, even a kid can understand this issue very well. I think velu is trying to create controversy like Bin laden. Here we have scarcity for drinking water itself so Tamilnadu Govt wants water for Agriculture purpose, how could TN Govt think like this? In TN the farmers  are growing 3 crops per year whereas In Karnataka our farmers are struggling to grow one crop also. Why did jaylalitha did not allowed the inspection Team to inspect Mettur dam at the initial stage but later on she allowed?  For this every one knows the reason, at the initial stage there was enough water at Mettur dam and later on she made all the water to flow into ocean and fooled the Inspection team. This is like cheating to all the Peoples.  Why TN peoples respect Jayalalithas tunes and fighting against Karnataka? Even they should understand our problem. In Karnataka already scarcity has started and peoples are struggling for drinking water.

TN peoples are not thinking in an Positive way, I have several examples on this like: the TN peoples constructed Kushboos temple, started worshipping her and later on they destroyed, this clearly shows what type of mentality  do they have? Jayalalitha is a great fraud and even police has arrested her for her illegal activities and again the TN peoples have made her as CM and dancing for her Tunes. This looks very cheap.

Now at least Velu understands cauvery problem and fights against Jayalalitha  and prove himself A TRUE INDIAN.

Please think over.
Regards.

Subject: Please look into this Sir

Dear Sir,
I have participated in BDA public auction of sites during Sept, 2001 year and bidded as highest bidder for site no 338 in Lakkasandra, Wilson Garden. On the same day I have paid 25 % of the site cost and subsequently received the confirmation from BDA office to pay the remaining 75% of the site cost with in 45 days.

Meanwhile some third party has gone to Bangalore Civil Court claimimg the site belongs to him. Subsequently I have approached BDA office and intimated the same and informed that I am not going to pay the balanace amount with in the 45 days as the matter is in the court. BDA office sent a letter to considering my request.

So far more than one year time period lapsed and I could not hear any further information from the BDA office.

I request the concern authorities to look into this matter and humbly pray to solve this case with humanitarian kind.

Thanking You,
Batchu Srinivasu, #110, First Floor, 19th Main, 6th Block, Koramangala Bangalore - 95.

Subject: Laggere Road in a Pathetic Conditions

Dear Sir,
The road which connects Mahalaskhmi Layout to Peenya bisecting the newly opened Ring road(connecting to Mysore road) is a rider's nightmare. There are innumerable potholes and what is left is some stray tarred stretches here and there to suggest that once a road existed here, and this is the status for the past 5 years.

This road houses the office of the prestigious Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) besides a lot of Small Scale & Garment Industries. Daily lot of commuters use this road to reach Peenya from Mahalakshmi layout/Rajajinagar etc by avoiding the busy Tumkur highway, but the road is in a very pathetic condition.

Further, all new ventures, be it IT or manufacturing or any other sector have to get the KSPCB clearance and they will have a very harrowing time just to approach this office itself situated in this pothole ridden road and we will definitely not like our potential investors to carry such a bad impression in the beginning itself about our infrastructure status.

Hence, I earnestly request the concerned authorities to inspect this road and take up the ashpalting work at the earliest.

Regards
Concerned Citizen of Bangalore.

Subject: Unjustified fare hike of the Auto rickshaws

Dear Transport Commissioner- Auto fares Division
Would you mind taking time off to answer the following queries:There is an unjustified fare hike of the Autorickshaws plying in Bangalore.

As a regular user of them, the most common complaint is that the Auto Drivers STILL do not have change to render to the passenger, thereby looting a few hundred rupees in the long run. And as far as the rates regarding the Old and New tariffs published by the RTO as on 28th Oct 2002, the lesser said, the better. I would like to ask the RTO officials thru' your esteemed columns as to how on earth could the old rate be,for example, Rs.31.90/- when the Auto meters are metered (read rigged) to jump in multiples of 20 paise..Is the RTO trying to pour duest into the commuters eyes....is this all a farce that is being done to eyewash the entire process with a few public announcements in the Newspapers?

Also, when the New rate for Rs.40.70/- is Rs.49.25/-.. in this connection, will the RTO also instruct the auto drivers to pay back the customer Re 0.75 when the passenger gives him Rs.50/-??? Obviously not. So , it turns out to be that the Passenger has to make do with a 0.75 ps loss for every auto that plies on the Bangalore roads. Taking into consideration that there are around 50,000 autos plying in Bangalore everyday, approximately. That, is a Huge amount ...can the RTO dare to answer these questions?????

With warm regards
