Any service costs money. Here we
give some of the basic commercial terms for availing some of the telecom services in the
city of Bangalore.
Permanent Phone Connection:
General public can register their demand for new permanent telephone connections either
under OYT (Own Your Telephone) scheme or NON-OYT scheme. You can book for a new phone
connection under various categories described below. OYT category will get priority over
NON-OYT category and special category over general category in release of telephone
connection. |
OYT General : Own Your Telephone scheme
is open for all on payment of Rs. 15,000/- deposit. Telephone connections under this
category are provided within three months.
OYT Special: Government Departments,
Public Sector undertakings, Statutory bodies are eligible to apply for this category. The
deposit is Rs. 15,000/-
NON-OYT General: The scheme is open for
all on payment of Rs. 3,000/- deposit.
NON-OYT Special: The scheme is applicable
to Doctors, Qualified nurses, newspapers and news agencies, press correspondents and
public institutions on payment of Rs. 3,000/- deposit.
NON-OYT-SS: The scheme is applicable to
Foreign missions and Embassies, UN organisations, elected representatives of Parliament,
Assemblies and Municipal Bodies, senior retiring officers of State and Central Government
on payment of Rs. 3,000/- deposit.
NON-OYT-SWS: The scheme is applicable to
Swatantra Senani (freedom fighters) on payment of Rs.3000/- deposit.
TATKAL: The scheme is applicable for all
on payment Rs.30,000/- deposit. The connection will be provided within a period of two
weeks.
