GUIDELINES GOVERNING TO ADMISSION TO POST GRADUATE COURSES IN THE FACULTIES OF ARTS, SCIENCE, (INCLUDING MCA), COMMERCE,(INCLUDING MBA), Education AND COMMUNICATION IN THE UNIVERSITY COLLEGES AND DEPARTMENTS AND P.G.CENTRES AT TUMKUR AND KOLAR AND OTHER SELECTED AFFILIATED COLLEGES.
 

  1. Admission to all post graduate courses and other Post Graduate Diploma Courses in the University Departments and Colleges at Jnana Bharathi, Central College, P.G.Centres at Tumkur and Kolar and other selected affiliated colleges was being done through an Entrance Test conducted by each department uptill last year.From the acedemic year 2000-01 admissions would be made on the basis of marks obtained at the qualifying examinations.Rules regarding reservations ,etc would however be observed. In-take of each department/centre would be reviewed from time to time.
       
    Each Post Graduate Department and Centre shall constitute an admission committee consisting of Chairman of the concerned department and two senior teachers belonging to the department. In case of the Post Graduate Centre, the Director and two teachers in the subject shall constitute the admission committee.

     
    Such of the foreign students who have passed qualifying examination from an Indian University and who were in India for purpose of study therefore, shall take the admission test and gain the necessary qualifying marks therein.

     
    In case of admission to LL.M at the University Law college and B.P.Ed.and M.P.Ed. at the University College of Physical Education, the Principals concerned will admit students as per Ordinances/guidelines applicable to them.
    For all post graduate programme the requisite minimum percentage of marks at the Under graduate level (all years put together) one must have 50 percent in total and 50 percent in the cognate subject.This minimum percentage is lowered for the SC/ST ,etc students as per rules.
